German shepard long hair are mainly called the ‘long coat German shepherd’ whereas the short-haired German shepherd and called the ‘normal coat or stock coat German shepherd’.

These long haired dogs are a very unique variant of the ever popular short to medium-length coated Shepherds.

According to various researches, only 10-15% of all the German shepherd dogs are Long-haired.

The long-haired GSD is also considered to be a calmer version of the short-haired.
