A technical analysis that identifies three major trends in the price of a security resulting from information and knowledge held by the market:
- A primary trend, upward or downward, lasts at least for one year.
- A secondary trend, shorter, aiming to correct the primary trend. It lasts from one to three months.
- A tertiary trend, contained within the secondary trend.
