Private equity (PE) continues to play a major role in European M&A, with firms leveraging substantial capital reserves (“dry powder”) to pursue acquisitions.
How to do you see PEs supporting and driving M&A environment in your countries?

United States M&A markets have always been very active. While many private acquisitions take place outside of PE domain, many medium and large size companies involve with PE acquisitions.

My company recently invested in the PE structure that is aiming to consolidate an offering in our area. It’s an interesting strategy and I’m intrigued to see the returns. We also invested in a portfolio that invests in other PE funds, and has had a strong return history. This is my first direct interaction with PEs, and from the modeling I saw from the pitch and research I have done, it seems like a very active acquisition type, potentially driving up purchase prices in some industries.
