What challenges arise when managing post-merger integration (PMI) in another country, and how should companies address them? Should the company deploy its own staff to spend time onsite at the target location, or hire skilled external resources to manage the integration?

I think it depends on the type of acquisition and size of the company. We are always facing acquisitions in another country. We mainly rely on internal experiences people to provide knowledge and insights into policies, governance and strategy and external consultants for an interim period to support the target employees with additional integration acitivities besides their day-to-day work. Of course the gap of languages should also be reflected.
