What do you think about determining exit strategies?
If things are going well, even very well, what internal or external criteria do you examine before selling the business?
I think you plan for them from the start. It’s not about things going wrong—it’s about being a good steward of the business. Even when things are going well, I would ask: are we still the right team to take it to the next level? Is the market telling us it’s the right time to create value? If a sale opens up more opportunity—for the business and the people in it—I don’t let ego get in the way.
