Maintaining human capital remains a critical component in successful acquisition transactions. Strategic pre-planning prior to a transaction on how to communicate, empower and retain key talent needs to be part of the deal process and not an afterthought.

Completely agree. I believe when looking at resourcing for due diligence human capital should have a heavy footprint to ensure it is done effectively. It can be the difference between a successful acquisition and a difficult one.

I agree! Most people agree actually, but I think there is a gap in terms of real tools and methods to do this properly. My experience is that there is little time to plan and many people seem very unwilling to engage in activities that are less “measurable”. Do any of you have some specific methods for how you empower and retain key talent?
