In the final Change Management video, he talked a lot about nominating leaders of the combined organization. In our most recent M&A, legacy leader roles stayed mostly true for the acquiring company and target leaders were either told what their new role would be or people needed to apply for a new position. Not saying what we did was the best practice because leaders from the target organization were basically demoted with no opportunity for them to be at the level they were before, but we did open up new opportunities for other staff to apply for specialized roles vs. generalized that they were in their past.
